Release notes

This page records IsonAI product changes that affect users, newest first. Statuses used: Available, Alpha/Beta, Rollout, or Retired. Internal changes that do not alter user-facing behavior are not listed here.

2026-10-17: Bots & user agents documentation

  • Platform: Web (documentation site, Bots & user agents).
  • Status: Available.
  • A new page for site owners describing IsonAI's two automated agents: IsonSearchBot (the Ison Search index crawler, which follows robots.txt) and IsonAI-User (which visits a page only when a person using IsonAI asks for it).
  • It lists each agent's user agent, how to block it, IsonSearchBot's published IP addresses, and how to verify requests with HTTP Message Signatures (Web Bot Auth). Request signing is switched on for each agent once its Cloudflare registration is active.

2026-10-07: Chat: official data from 9 agencies and the Official data card

  • Platform: Web and app (Public services).
  • Status: Available.
  • Chat now fetches data from the official channels of BPS, Bank Indonesia (including PIHPS food prices and the BI-Rate), the Ministry of Finance, BMKG (weather, earthquakes, marine weather), MAGMA Indonesia, Jakarta Posko Banjir, prayer times from Ministry of Religious Affairs Bimas Islam data (via MyQuran), KBBI, and NOAA airport weather.
  • Answers that use this data show an Official data card with the agency's logo and name, the kind of data, when it was fetched, and a link to the official channel; the channel is also listed first among sources with an Official tag.
  • Prayer times now cover tomorrow and the day after, not only today.
  • Online registration with Klinik Kandungan Adinaya from chat shows a booking-code card.

2026-10-07: Slate: verified-reference badges

  • Platform: Web (Ison Slate).
  • Status: Available.
  • Scholarly references in a report's bibliography are looked up in Crossref, Semantic Scholar, Garuda and the SINTA journal collection. Found ones get a ✓ Verified badge, ones whose record differs get Metadata differs, and the number of verified references shows above the bibliography.
  • Research progress now shows in Indonesian too, including the coverage and source-screening steps; when a citation is moved to the source that holds its figure, the Source check panel says so.

2026-10-07: Slate: every figure matched to its source

  • Platform: Web (Ison Slate).
  • Status: Available.
  • Every specific figure in a report (percentages, p-values, sample sizes) is matched against the text of the cited source. If the exact figure is in another source the report cites, the citation moves there; if it is in none, the citation gets a # marker and the Evidence panel names the figure to check.
  • Author-profile and listing pages (for example on Garuda) are no longer used as sources; article and regulation pages with a generic title get the document's own title.
  • For literature reviews, sources from another population or field are set aside and news, blog or institutional pages are limited, so the main evidence comes from research articles.

2026-10-06: Slate: prefer Indonesian SINTA journals, reference-check guide

  • Platform: Web (Ison Slate).
  • Status: Available.
  • New option in Academic source filters: Prefer Indonesian SINTA journals. When ticked (or when a SINTA accreditation filter is set), Slate also searches the 1M+ SINTA journal articles in Ison Search, including PDF full text, and adds up to 10 of the most relevant.
  • Citations of web sources now show the organisation and publication year (for example Badan Pusat Statistik, 2025) instead of the domain and "n.d.".
  • A full Reference check guide: steps, what each status means, privacy and limitations.
  • More complete literature-review reports: Slate checks which aspects its sources do not yet cover and searches for them before writing, then adds a synthesis of the studies (dominant designs, conflicting findings, research gaps).

2026-10-04: Slate: reference check

  • Platform: Web (Ison Slate).
  • Status: Available.
  • New Check refs menu: upload your own draft and Slate checks every reference-list entry in Crossref, OpenAlex, Semantic Scholar, Garuda, and Google Books (found, metadata differs, DOI points to another work, retracted, not found).
  • In-text citations are paired with the reference list; citations without an entry and entries never cited are listed.
  • Cited sentences are checked against the source's open text or abstract, with the passage shown. Results download as .md or .csv.

2026-10-04: Memory moves into Settings

  • Platform: Web.
  • Status: Available.
  • Memory is now managed in Settings → Memory inside chat instead of on a separate page: the on/off switch, the profile summary (folded by default, tap to read in full), and a Records → Manage panel for adding notes and editing or deleting individual facts.
  • Clear memory (delete everything at once) moved to Settings → Data.
  • The old isonai.com/memory link still works and opens the new section.

2026-10-03: Slate: source check, literature matrix, Word/RIS export, filters, and clarifying questions

  • Platform: Web (Ison Slate).
  • Status: Available.
  • Reports are written in one fuller pass, then every cited sentence is checked against its source page (source check); click a citation number to see the passage that was checked.
  • Literature matrix: a table of design, sample, findings, and limitations for each cited source; downloadable as CSV.
  • Export .docx (APA 7 layout with the APA style) and Export .ris for Zotero, Mendeley, and EndNote.
  • Academic source filters under Advanced: publication year, SINTA, SJR quartile, open access, and language.
  • For questions that are too broad, Slate asks up to three short questions before the research starts; you can skip them.

2026-09-29: New chat look, Core panel, and help center

  • Platform: Web.
  • Status: Available.
  • The chat has a refreshed look: a new welcome title, a roomier reading column, answer sources shown as numbered footnotes with site icons, and calmer code block colors.
  • When you switch to Core, the interface marks the mode as active. While Core works, a panel shows the stages it is running (mapping the goal, gathering evidence, testing approaches, checking results, composing the answer) with a running timer, then collapses into a summary once the answer starts.
  • Help & contact, Prompt examples, the Privacy Policy, and the Terms of Service now live in this documentation.

2026-09-26: EPITHRE. CLI

  • Platform: Windows, Linux, and macOS (terminal).
  • Status: Available.
  • EPITHRE. CLI is a terminal coding agent that uses your EPITHRE. Platform API key, with the epithre-prme, epithre-omni, and epithre-lyt models.
  • Installed with a single command (PowerShell on Windows, curl on Linux/macOS) and updates itself automatically once a day.

2026-09-01: Extra Deep and Core on Omni/PRME

  • Platform: Web.
  • Status: Available on Pro.
  • The Thinking picker now offers Fast, Auto, Deep, Extra Deep, and Core.
  • Extra Deep tests conclusions, decisive figures, alternative interpretations, and potentially disconfirming evidence with a higher source bar.
  • Core runs a multi-stage workflow on the selected Omni or PRME model: mapping the answer contract, gathering evidence, producing several analyses, auditing, repairing, and releasing one final answer.
  • PRME with Core is IsonAI's strongest chat profile. Core is limited to 5 uses per day on Pro and never silently switches models.
  • Limits: Core cannot currently be combined with Deep Research, image generation/editing, document editing, or image attachments.

2026-08-31: Cross-turn image references

  • Platform: Chat.
  • Status: Available.
  • Follow-up questions can now refer to an image uploaded or created earlier in the same conversation; IsonAI reloads that image's visual context when relevant.
  • If several images could match or the image is no longer available, IsonAI asks you to choose or reattach it instead of guessing.

2026-08-29: Three explicit tiers, Omni by default

  • Platform: Web and iOS.
  • Status: Available.
  • The model picker now presents three explicit tiers: Omni, LYT, and PRME. Every new conversation starts on Omni; Adaptive was removed from the interface.
  • A selected tier is not silently replaced during an outage. Automatic fallback to LYT remains only for an exhausted smart-model token quota.

2026-08-22: Read-only MCP connectors

  • Platform: Web.
  • Status: Available.
  • Pro/admin users can opt into reviewed read-only MCP connectors from Settings; the initial catalog contains Ison Search Indonesia. Arbitrary URLs and write tools are not open.

2026-07-18: Multi-format Slate Notebook, Studio, and Library

  • Platform: Web (slate.isonai.com).
  • Status: Available.
  • Slate Notebook expanded from PDF into a multi-format workspace for documents, web URLs, transcript-backed YouTube videos, audio, and images, with openable citations and per-question source selection.
  • Studio creates source-grounded summaries, mind maps, slide decks, infographics, data tables, flashcards, FAQs, quizzes, study guides, timelines, and suggested questions.
  • Library brings reports and Notebooks together; Notes and revocable public read-only links let users share without exposing private chats or original source files.
  • Limits: direct viewer/editor invitations and Audio Overviews are not available.

2026-07-17: Official documentation at docs.isonai.com

  • Platform: Web (documentation site).
  • Status: Available.
  • The official IsonAI documentation launched in Bahasa Indonesia and English, including machine-readable surfaces (llms.txt, llms-full.txt, a manifest, and per-page Markdown mirrors).

2026-07-17: Adaptive Thinking with a live narrative

  • Platform: Web.
  • Status: Available.
  • The Thinking modes Fast/Auto/Deep apply effort as an adaptive ceiling with a first-answer deadline; when Thinking is used, a public thinking narrative streams live while the answer is composed and remains available collapsed afterwards.
  • Limits: the LYT tier always behaves as Fast; the Thinking picker is hidden while LYT is explicitly selected.

2026-06-30: Memory page with a profile summary

  • Platform: Web.
  • Status: Available.
  • isonai.com/memory shows a narrative profile summary above the fact list, with add/edit/delete facts, summary regeneration, and delete-all.

2026-06-19: Folders with memory separation

  • Platform: Web.
  • Status: Available.
  • Folders group conversations and separate cross-conversation recall per folder, so different project contexts do not bleed into each other.

2026-06-18: Deep Research in chat

  • Platform: Web.
  • Status: Available.
  • Deep Research arrived as an explicit research mode: multi-round investigation across many web sources with a full report and a Sources panel.
  • Limits: activates only on explicit request; daily quota per plan.

2026-06-11: Doc Edit (PDF editing)

  • Platform: Web.
  • Status: Available.
  • Doc Edit: fill forms, replace text (including scanned PDFs via OCR), insert photos, and add signatures on attached PDFs, straight from chat.

2026-06-04: Ison Search public

  • Platform: Web (search.isonai.com).
  • Status: Alpha.
  • Ison Search opened to the public: a curated Indonesian search engine with credibility tiering and tracking-free privacy.
