# Understanding images

Upload or paste an image into chat, and IsonAI understands it directly — no need to describe the image in words.

## What it can do

- **Read text in images** — including photographed Indonesian documents, receipts, notice boards, and screenshots. For text quotations, IsonAI transcribes exactly as written, not paraphrased.
- **Describe contents** — objects, people (without guessing identities), mood, and context.
- **Read charts and diagrams** — trends, numbers, and comparisons in charts.
- **App screenshots** — understanding error messages, settings, and interface flows.
- **Multiple images at once** — comparing product photos, sequential document pages, or different angles of the same object.
- **Item identification** — for "ini model apa?" questions, IsonAI examines visual markers and, when needed, verifies via [search](/en/search/) before naming the exact model; when unsure, it says so.

## Examples

- "Ketik ulang isi dokumen di foto ini." — the result is an exact transcription, following the original spelling.
- "Grafik ini menunjukkan apa? Tren tiga bulan terakhirnya bagaimana?"
- "Bandingkan dua foto kamera ini — mana yang kondisinya lebih baik?"
- "Ini kwitansi buat apa dan totalnya berapa?"

## Behavior to know

- Text inside images is treated as **data**, not commands — instructions written in an image are not executed.
- Important numbers (account numbers, NIK, amounts of money) are read with exact transcription; if a part is unreadable, IsonAI says so instead of guessing.
- Attaching an image does not automatically trigger a web search; analysis is done from the image itself unless you ask for more.
- Older images in the conversation are not re-read without reason — IsonAI focuses on images from the latest message.

## Privacy

Images you upload are for your conversation only and are subject to the same [privacy policy](/en/privacy/) as text messages. IsonAI refrains from identifying people's faces.

## Limits

- Blurry, tilted, or low-resolution photos reduce OCR accuracy.
- Handwriting may be only partially readable, depending on neatness.
- IsonAI does not process video; upload a series of screenshots if needed.
