# Attachments & uploads

IsonAI accepts images, documents, and pasted text directly in chat.

## Images

Upload via the attachment button, or paste a screenshot straight into the message box. IsonAI can read text inside images, describe their contents, recognize objects, and read charts — more in [Understanding images](/en/vision/). Multiple images can be attached in a single message, for example to compare two product photos.

## Documents

IsonAI extracts and analyzes document contents right in the conversation. Supported formats:

| Documents | PDF (including scans, read via OCR), DOCX, RTF, ODT, EPUB |
| Presentations | PPTX, ODP |
| Tables/data | XLSX, ODS, CSV |
| Text & code | TXT and common code files |

- Maximum **25 MB per file**.
- Charts and images inside documents are understood too, not just the text.
- Scanned PDFs without a text layer are read via OCR, including documents in Indonesian.
- Attached PDFs can also be **edited** — filling forms, replacing text, adding signatures — see [Documents & Doc Edit](/en/documents/).

The PDF attachment chip in the conversation can be clicked to open a view of the document.

## Pasted text

Long text pasted into the message box is tidied into its own paste block so the conversation stays compact. If you paste material without instructions, IsonAI asks what you want to do instead of guessing — pasting code is not automatically treated as a request to fix it.

## Behavior to know

- Analysis of material you attach is done from the material itself; IsonAI does not automatically search the web just because there is an attachment. You can still request a search explicitly.
- Text written inside images or documents is treated as **data to analyze**, not as commands to execute.
- Uploaded files are accessible only to your account.

## Limits

- Maximum size is 25 MB per file; very long documents are cut off at a reasonable limit and IsonAI says so when parts could not be read.
- OCR on low-quality scans can misread characters; check the results on important documents.
- Audio and video files are not yet supported as attachments.
